This policy explains what information Mint Ledger (“we”, “us”) collects when you use our mobile apps, our web app at app.mint-ledger.com and this website, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: your email address and display name. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your email address and name from that provider. With Apple you can choose to hide your email, in which case we receive a relay address.
- Your collection: the items you add, such as coins, bills, bullion and notes, and their details, grades, purchase prices, values, notes and album organisation.
- Photos: pictures you take or upload of your items.
- Marketplace and messages: listings, offers and messages you send to other users.
- Contact form: your name, email address and message when you contact us through this website.
Information collected automatically
- Usage and device information: basic analytics about how the apps are used (for example, screens viewed and features used), app version, device type and error logs.
- AI usage records: when you scan an item, we record that a scan happened, which feature it used and its size, so we can enforce plan limits and manage costs.
How we use your information
- To provide the service: store your collection, show values and run the features you use.
- To identify and estimate items from your photos. Photos you scan are sent to an AI model to suggest an identification and grade. Results are estimates, not appraisals.
- To keep prices current using market data (see “Pricing data” below).
- To run the marketplace and deliver messages between users.
- To provide support, respond to you, and send service messages about your account.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and enforce our Terms.
- To understand usage and improve the apps.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your photos or collection to advertise to you.
Who processes your information
We use service providers who process data on our behalf:
- Google Firebase: sign-in, database, photo storage, hosting of the web app, server functions and analytics.
- Google Gemini API: analysis of the photos you scan, to identify and grade items.
- Cloudflare: hosting of this website and email forwarding.
- Resend: delivery of messages sent through our contact form.
- Apple and Google: if you choose to sign in with them.
- Payment providers: when paid plans launch, payments will be handled by Apple, Google or Stripe. We will not receive or store your full card details.
Pricing data
To estimate values we look up market data, such as recent sales, dealer price guides and metal spot prices, from third-party sources. These lookups describe the item, for example its type, year and grade, and do not include your name or contact details.
What other users can see
Your collection is private by default. Marketplace listings, your public seller details and anything you choose to make public are visible to other users. Messages are visible to you and the people you exchange them with.
How long we keep information
We keep your account information and collection for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account we delete your account data, collection and photos, except where we must keep limited records for legal, security or fraud-prevention reasons. Backups are overwritten on a rolling schedule. Contact-form messages are kept only as long as needed to answer you.
Your choices and rights
- You can view and edit your collection and profile in the app at any time.
- You can export your collection from the app on plans that include export, or ask us for a copy.
- You can delete your account. See how to delete your account.
- Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us to make a request; we will respond within the time required by law.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and stored with access controls so that only you, and our systems acting on your behalf, can reach your private collection. No method of storage or transmission is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Mint Ledger is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. If we make significant changes we will notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. The “Last updated” date shows the latest version.
